The Charity and Talents Team sets out to organise fund-raising events using skills from our church and local community and from all ages.
Each year a specially nominated charity is selected by our congregation. In the past we have raised funds to support a wide variety of causes as diverse as Longbridge Day Centre for the Elderly, Jellybabies Nursery, Dogs for the Disabled, Mission Aviation Fellowship, Ifakara Bakery Project (Tanzania), Mercy Ships UK, Tiny Babies Big Appeal and Macmillan Cancer Support.
There is a wide range of activities, the principal event being our annual pantomime. This is open to all from inside and outside of the church and performed under the overall title of 'The Longbridge Players'. Last year's performance was 'Cinderella' with a cast ranging in age from 8 to 80 plus and raising £2000 for our charity.
We will shortly be looking for performers, front and back stage staff and helpers of all kinds for February 2018. Watch this space!
As well as our pantomime there are concerts, sponsored events, coffee mornings, sales and fun days etc. We do hope to welcome you in the future either as a visitor or participant.
